I have the same label inside my K Suzuki guitar. Where is Lackey's Guitar Center? I love my guitar! I've had it since 1978.

I bought a Suzuki from Lackeys Guitar Center in the late 70's. It was located in Newport News Virginia.

I bought my GRAND-SUZUKI from Lackey's Guitar in Hampton Va, on Mercury Blvd (I think), while I was in the Air Force, about 1975. A Lackeys Guitar lable is glued over what I think is the model number, so I cant be sure what it is. It looks like a Martin D-28.

Just picked up a K Suzuki F-100 (cheap on CL) with the same label as this (minus the Lackey's Guitar Center stamp). The label reads Kiso, Suzuki Violin Co Ltd Japan. Nice enough, solid, cheap guitar. Has a zero fret, looks to be all laminate construction, and doesn't have the Martin "lawsuit" headstock logo.
Any idea on the serial number scheme? Mine is 29034. Any way to date these?

I have an F 100, round Kiso Suzuki label Serial# 30108. Laminate spruce top, mahogany neck. Sides are a brown rosewood while the back is a dark red very much like brazilian and in tone also. Fretboard also looks like brazilian rosewood but I cant be sure. It has a smaller body much like a Martin and the headstock matches this style of Martin also, vintage style open gear tuners work very well. Has no zero fret unlike previous post's F100. Unfortunately the action has risen over the years to make it hard to play as a normal guitar but I tune it to open D and use it as a slide guitar. I also use a Seymour Duncan Woody humbucker into a Marshall sometimes to get a huge dirty slide tone. Either way this guitar has a magnificent bluesy tone unlike any other I have found.

This morning I bought a Grand Suzuki sunburst hummingbird model. Made by the Kiso Suzuki Violin Co. This guitar is a Gibson copy and is in new condition and has the Lackey Guitar Center label inside and on back side of head. I am very excited to have found this guitar. I purchased one exactly like it from Lackeys in 1973. The guitar has a wonderful sound. Lackeys Guitar Center was located in Hampton, VA; on Mercury Blvd. Lackey was a institution in the Tidewater area for many years back into the at least 60's....maybe the 50's. He sold Gibson's and Martin's. The Grand Suzuki was a good sounding copy of Gibson. He also sold a Martin Copy and I cant remember the name of that guitar.

I have an F-10 with this logo, however reads "Kiro Suzuki Guitar Co. Ltd." underneath, no "Lackey's" label. It's been with me since ca. 1972-73, traded a '69 Silvertone psuedo-Strat to my then bass player for it. Soon after, the bridge started pulling up & the wood started to split across the bridge pin holes - I added a trapeze tailpiece to alleviate the stress, a repair still there to this day. Has zero fret, adjustable bridge, square Martin style headstock with no logo. Has a bit of wear, as do I, but it's a great knockaround to go fearlessly where no pricey Gibsons or Martins will go. Installed a pickup w/vol & tone knobs a couple years back once I determined that its resale value will never amount to anything. Great sounding guitar for something that probably sold for a C-note 40 years ago
